I am thankful for sisterhood

I have 5 sisters. Only one speaks to me. That’s okay because I have many other women who are always there for me. They support my crazy ideas and believe in me. Today I am thankful for them. This time of year is about reflection. I would like to reflect on a few of my sisters. Ciara is my crazy Irish sister. She calls my mommy, mommy. I met her a few years ago when she found my yoga studio on Facebook. She brought me so many customers and has really helped my business grow. She loves nature and adventures as much as I do. She’s also really good at taking pictures. She took most of the pictures in Yoga with Aunty Mo. Join the biggest party of the year!Tamiko is my woke island sister. I am her baby’s aunty. We are on similar paths and I cannot wait to make magic and grow with her. I met Jennifer a few years ago. She does not go by Jen or any other such names. She is one of the strongest people I know. I hope she moves back to St Lucia one day.I said to her I wrote a book. She immediately bought one. Margaret believes in me more than I believe in myself. We were freshman Chemistry lab partners. She said I helped her pass Chemistry. She bought a very early copy of my book. She also wrote about it in the alumni newsletter. I hope I get to hang out with her again soon. What does a girl from St Lucia and one from Nebraska have in common? Enough to help each other survive 4 years of college. We won’t speak for months then we will have a long conversation on Facebook like we’re in college in the dark on our beds. She thinks I should have a book tour. I agree. My cousin Maureen and I are two planets in the same universe. I used to write letters to her when we were kids. When she finally came to St Lucia I hadn’t showered so I didn’t want her to see me like that. Then I was too nervous to talk to her. We still keep in touch. We encourage each other and she is a proud owner of my book. Thankful for Sisterhood | Yogawithmo.com During boot camp I met saw a tall redhead. I had never seen such curly red hair before. They made her cut her hair. I was sad about it. We became friends on a boat in one of the Willmingtons. For 4 years we were inseparable. Then for 3 more years we saw each other every few months. I call her mom mama L. She was the first person to own a paper back copy of my book. I could write a whole book about her but all I need is two words: Thank you. Rachael is my bestie forever and I will fight you for her. I got to know Beth through Rachael. We bonded over knitting and math. She is one of the smartest people I know. She has a heart of gold. I have an open invitation to the spare room in her house. I can always depend on her. Her son is my mom’s grandson. My cousin G is the closest thing I have to a sister. She is J girl and J Boy’s mom. When push comes to shove she will always be there for me. Recently we found out about this horrible rumor that was being spread about us. We only found out because I was supporting her by taking care of my babies during summer vacation. We both cried and didn’t sleep for a night. They thought they could separate us but we are stronger now. I am so thankful for this women. I couldn’t do it without you. I am thankful for our bonds of sisterhood. Let us continue to support each other and lift each other up. What are you thankful for?
